Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,
This September 11 we pause at the 20 year anniversary to honor those whose lives were forever touched by the events that took place over a span of minutes. In actuality all of our lives have been altered by those events. As we move forward let us continue to take notice of our similarities more than our differences.
This week is a 5 day week with an Early Release Day mid week on Wednesday. Additionally we will have Advisory Days on Tuesday and Thursday with the topic being Restorative Justice. (Please click this link to see our weekly newsletter.)
Have you registered for the PSAT? The deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 14. Check out the information in the newsletter to register and prepare.
Reminder: All SSL forms for service completed after June 1, 2022, should be submitted to the school’s SSL coordinator, Ms. Coe, by the due date of September 23, 2022.
It remains important that staff and families continue to report positive cases of COVID-19 via this online form. An updated isolation calculator is linked to help you understand when it is OK to return to work or school. The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is now offering updated bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccines . This is now the only booster available for ages 12+ at county-sponsored clinics (including school-based clinics). Appointments are currently recommended. Maryland's Vaccine Locator provides information on pharmacies and other locations offering booster appointments and a helpful FAQ on the new boosters.
Have you applied for Free School Meals? There's a great program called Ready for School Initiative and they offer $40 for school supplies when Montgomery County Public Schools families complete the FARMS application form.
MoCo EmpowHER is hosting a College Readiness & Alumni Panel on Sept. 20 from 6-8 p.m. over Zoom. Students are encouraged to join this unique experience, especially if they are preparing college applications or are simply interested in learning more about higher education. The meeting will feature a panel of EmpowHER alumni who currently attend higher education institutions. They will provide insights on campus life and the college application process.
