Principal's Weekly Message

CHS Seal

A message from Principal Edward Owusu

Can you believe we are already in October! We had a great week last week and another one is in store this week. This week is a 4 day week as schools are closed Wednesday in honor of Yom Kippur. We are proud to continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with activities and information all week. Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Testing will continue this week for grade 9 students. And as we approach the midpoint of the first quarter students are asked to please continue following up on assignments and school work. Check StudentVUE or ParentVUE as necessary. Keeping the focus on academics has to be a priority! (Please click this link to see our weekly newsletter.)

Please check out MCPS' Four Things to Know for Thursday, Sept. 29. They include a follow-up letter from Dr. McKnight on athletics safety, information about the dangers of Edibles, a reminder about Family Physical Education Week, a survey about next year’s school calendar, mental health information and more.

Homecoming week is around the corner. This week we begin selling tickets for the dance later in the month. Tickets will be sold via SchoolCashOnline and in person beginning with Seniors and Juniors this week and all students the following week. Out of School Guest Forms are due no later than October 4.
