A message from Principal Edward Owusu

Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, and Families,

Two great themed experiences combine to make the next 7 days SPECTAUCULAR! Homecoming Week 2022 and Mental Health Awareness Week are here! We have a full week in store this week. We end our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with an Advisory lesson later in the week. The PSAT will be held on Wednesday and a senior meeting is on the schedule as well. First quarter Interim reports will be available by Thursday of this week. Check StudentVUE or ParentVUE as necessary. Keeping the focus on academics has to be a priority!

(Please click this link to see our weekly newsletter.)

The PSAT will be held this Wednesday, October 12 beginning at 7:45 am and ending by 12:30 pm. (YOU MAY FIND A LISTING OF STUDENTS ARRANGED BY GRADE LEVE TABS HERE) All 10th grade students have been registered and are expected to test. 9th and 11th grade students that registered are also expected to test. ALL seniors should plan on attending an important senior meeting on October 12 beginning at 10:15 am. Students that are NOT testing (grades 9-11) may join later in the afternoon for lunch or for Clarksburg Day!

Mental Health Awareness week is October 10th through October 14th. Students and staff are invited to participate in numerous activities throughout the week, to learn and engage in their overall mental health wellbeing. Please see here for the daily activities. Additional information and student activities can be found on the MCPS Mental Health Awareness Week website.

Homecoming Week is HERE! Spirit Week themes for this week are Character Day, Country/Country Club Day, Decades Day, Ties and Tie Dye Day, and Coyote Pride Day. Our JV Football team takes the field Thursday, followed by Varsity on Friday. This week we complete ticket sales for the dance that will be held on Saturday. Tickets will be sold via SchoolCash Online and in person for all students Monday and Tuesday. Tickets may only be purchased online for Clarksburg students (1 ticket per person).

Please check out MCPS' Seven Things to Know for Thursday, October 6. They include a request for student input on the school calendar, an eighth-grade common application for high school programs, an athletic trainer update, mental health week reminder and other important upcoming items.
