I came to CCES in 1994 fresh out of graduate school and originally taught 3rd grade. Since then, I've also been an instructional specialist and science lab teacher. In 2010, I joined the CES team and haven't looked back since! My undergraduate degree is in Accounting, and I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master of Education in Education Policy and Leadership with a specialization in Curriculum Theory and Development. Apart from teaching, I also love reading, running, cooking, and spending time with my husband, three children and our sweet dog, Milo.

Throughout my career I have taught fourth through sixth grade, with the vast majority of my time happily teaching science and social studies. I attended Frostburg State University for my undergraduate degree and received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College. I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, baking, traveling, and going out to movies and to restaurants.

This is my 4th year here at Chevy Chase, but my first year as a classroom teacher! Prior to working at CCES, I taught in the English Department and worked for Disability Support at the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom) for several years. I have undergraduate degrees in history and English and graduate degrees in history, English, and teaching. I love the creativity and fun that teaching at the elementary level affords, and I look forward to an exciting rest of the year here at CCES! In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, golfing, reading, writing, riding my motorcycle, and watching movies with my wife Cathy.
