Grade 4: Meet the Teachers

Afable, K. Karly Afable, 4th grade teacher, Center for Enriched Studies
Hello! I have been a 4th Grade Classroom Teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools since 2012. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Alabama and recently earned my Master's Degree in Digital Age Learning and Educational Technology at Johns Hopkins University. Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working out, cooking, and cheering on the Crimson Tide. This is my first year here at Chevy Chase, and I am excited to be apart of the Cheetah family!
Flint, L. Lindsey Flint, 4th grade teacher 
Hello! I graduated in 2018 with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Towson University. Before coming to Chevy Chase I worked at the preschool level teaching Kindergarten for about 2 years. When I'm not in the classroom you can find me relaxing with friends and family or looking up newly released kids books for my classroom.
Lynch, M Mark Lynch, 4th grade, Center for Enriched Studies
Greetings! I studied Kindergarten and Elementary Education at Penn State University, and I graduated with in 2012. This will be my seventh year teaching and all have been at Chevy Chase. I’ve taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades at Chevy Chase, and this is my third year in the CES. While teaching, I earned my Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Purdue University in 2014. My wife, Rebecca, and I have been married for 3 years, and we enjoy cooking, traveling, laughing, and finding things to do together. I am a huge fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, and I really enjoy trivia, comedy, and reading when I have the chance. Here’s to another great year at Chevy Chase. 


Bridget Prego, 4th grade teacher, Team Leader 
I’m originally from Pennsylvania and moved to this area in 2006 to start my teaching career in MCPS.  I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Penn State and a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University.  I have taught in grades 2-5 and absolutely love being a part of the Chevy Chase community!  I currently live in Bethesda and enjoy walking around town.  When I’m not teaching, you can find me exercising, traveling, watching college football, reading, catching up on the latest movies and spending time with my family and friends.
Quintana Julie Quintana, 4th grade, Center for Enriched Studies Team Leader
I studied International Relations at Boston University and Education at the State University of New York at Fredonia. I have 18 years of teaching experience and have taught a variety of subjects and grades. This is my third year at CCES and the Highly Gifted Center. My husband and I have two sons, ages 7 & 12, and two daughters, ages 6 & 9.In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, sports, and relaxing at the beach.I am looking forward to an amazing year of learning.
Rosenberg, R. Rachel Rosenberg, 4th grade teacher
Hello! I grew up in MCPS and attended Walter Johnson High School. I went on to earn my Bachelor's degree from Salisbury University in 2018, where I studied Elementary Education and Mathematics. Go gulls! While I loved my time on the eastern shore of Maryland, I am so happy to be back home in MCPS. When I'm not teaching, I am often relaxing on the beach, catching up with friends and family, crafting, or shopping. 
Granados Ashley Slepitza, 4th grade teacher
Hello! After receiving my bachelor's degree in elementary education from University of Maryland in 2011, I began my teaching journey. I have had the pleasure teaching both 2nd and 4th grade. While teaching, I obtained my master’s degree in elementary mathematics and reading from Walden University in 2016. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cuddling with my dog, reading the next book-turned-movie, obsessing over Harry Potter, and going on adventures with my husband. I am excited for my year at CCES and can't wait to make long lasting memories.
