HOUSING:

Behind on rent? Click here for more information

Covid Rent Relief Program: The county has received funds to assist with rental arrears, up to $4000. There is currently a waitlist. To add to the waitlist, applicants can complete this form: https://forms.montgomerycountymd.gov/f/CRRPwaitlist or call 311 and ask to be added to the Covid Rent Relief Program Waitlist. More funds will become available as a result of the stimulus bill passed by Congress; however, I am not sure when or what program changes come with the new funds. We continue to process cases daily, so if they applied, it is possible their case will be assigned soon if it hasn't yet been assigned.

Emergency Services- Eviction prevention: If they have an informal lease and are at imminent risk of losing their housing or if they have a court eviction notice, they should call 240-777-4550 for a screening and for their case to be assigned. We have staff answering calls and returning voice mails Monday-Friday.

Families seeking homeless shelter: If the family has lost their housing, they are able to seek family shelter services. They can call the Crisis Center, 240-777-4000 or the Housing Stabilization Offices in Rockville, 240-777-4550, Germantown, 240-777-4448 or Silver Spring, 240-777-3075. We have staff answering and returning calls on a daily basis. If they prefer to walk-in for services, they can walk-in at 1301 Piccard Rockville, MD 20850.
