Candlewood Elementary

The Kids Heart Challenge is coming to Candlewood! Wednesday, March 1, we had our kick-off Town Hall meeting for the Kids Heart Challenge  with  a representative from the American Heart Association. On Friday, we sent home a Save the Date that has a QR code to register and to choose the challenge of Being Kind or Move More for our start date of March 13. Let’s go, Candlewood!

Here is the breakdown of what our goals are and what will happen when we reach them:

• Once, half the students in our school sign up and choose their challenge on our Kids Heart Challenge webpage or app and our school reaches the first $500 in life saving donations to help the mission of the AHA…our school will earn an EXTRA $500 to shop for wellness and PE equipment for our school. 

• To add to the fun, if we hit our goal, two random students from the class in each grade with the highest % of students taking the health challenge will be chosen to Silly String Coach Klein. These classes will also receive throwback heart hero keychains for each student and the first class to have all its students taking the health challenge will earn an extra PE class with Coach Klein!

• Lastly, if we reach our school fundraising goal of $5,000, students raising $150 or more will get to Silly String both Mrs. Walsleben and Mrs. Fowle!
