Stamped Reading & Discussion Schedule
1) We are very excited to announce the beginning of our very first Community Read. All staff and students at Cabin John will be reading the bestselling book, Stamped by Jason Reynolds and Dr. Ibram Kendi. Over 150 students and staff met at the end of last school year to discuss ways we can address racism as a community. One suggestion that had a lot of support was to do a group read and discussion of a book during this school year. A committee selected Stamped, an MCPS approved, award winning and best selling YA book that discusses the background and history of Racism in America. More importantly, it also discusses what we can do to help end it today. The first discussion with students will start with an introduction of the book on October 20th, during period 8.
