⭐Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) 🎓-  Make-up tests will continue to take place on May 22 - May 26, for students in grades 3 through 5, who were absent during the initial test administration.  Click here for more MCAP information and resources.

⭐ Field Day for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade is Friday, May 26th. Ms. Vernot still needs more volunteers to run a station from 9:30 to 12:30. The volunteer letter is on the school website or click here. Please have the student return the form with the volunteer's name. Thank you.

⭐Burtonsville’s Got Talent🎤:  Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm in the multipurpose room.  Come out and show your support for our STARS as they take the stage and share their talents.  Our PTA will sell slices of pizza during the event. This is an event you do not want to miss!  (Event flyer)

⭐Lost & Found - As the temperature outside increases, so do the items in our lost and found.  If your child is missing clothes (shirts, jackets, hoodies, sweaters, hats) water bottles, umbrellas, lunch boxes, and even eyeglasses), please remind them to stop and look for them in the lost and found.  All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity on June 16, 2023.

⭐Antiracist System Action Plan - BES Community:  During the May 2nd PTA meeting we shared a summary of our antiracist audit survey data; specific results, the work we have done so far, and action plans for continuous improvement.   If you were unable to attend the meeting or would simply like a copy of what was discussed, Click here to learn more.

⭐The State of Maryland requires that schools conduct six annual mandated drills: lockdown; shelter-in-place; evacuation; reverse evacuation; severe weather; drop, cover, and hold (earthquake).  This year, we will also conduct a Parent-Child-Reunification (PCR) drill. Please ensure that the emergency contact and student release information for your child(ren) is updated.  You can call the school at 240-740-5700 for assistance.

A Message from our PTA…

HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Friday’s Cultural Night! A special thank you to those who volunteered to host a table and performed.  It was a successful event because of you!
