  • Ms. Julia Plano: Hello, my name is Miss Plano! This will be my third year teaching 4th grade at Barnsley, and I absolutely love it! I grew up in Howard County, MD, and then I attended The University of Alabama for my degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I have two sisters, Maria and Andrea, and a golden retriever, Shay. In my free time, I love hiking, working on crafts, cooking, and watching football (Roll Tide and Go Ravens!). I am looking forward to a fantastic year!

  • Ms. Kelli Riley: Hello, my name is Ms. Riley. This is my 1st year at Barnsley, but my 12th year in the county.  I am a graduate of Morgan State University, an HBCU in Baltimore, MD. I am a graduate student at McDaniel College. I am born, raised, and still reside in Baltimore, MD. I am the oldest of four girls. I have two nieces, Laila and Laci, and one nephew, Liam.  In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, take Zumba classes, watch football with my dad (GO RAVENS!!), and watch a good movie. I am looking forward to an awesome school year at Barnsley!

  • Ms. Pamela Ritenour: Hello!  My name is Pamela Ritenour and this is my second year here at Barnsley Elementary but my third year teaching with MCPS.  I am originally from the Washington, DC area, and graduated from Montgomery County Public Schools.  However, for the past 20 years, I have lived in both East and Middle Tennessee where I received my B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies K-6 from Middle Tennessee State University. #TrueBlue. While in the Volunteer State, I taught 3rd Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies and owned a private tutoring and educational coaching business. I am a proud Mom to three children:   Hunter, 26, ​Taylor, 23, Sidney 21; and a proud Gigi to one​ grandson, Rory, 3.  I also have one fur baby, Gypsy! When I'm not brainstorming about​ ways to engage my students so that​ learning is fun, I enjoy walking, yoga,​ crafting, and hanging out with my friends that I've known since elementary and middle school! 

  • My name is Catherine (Cassie) Staley and this is my 16th year of teaching, and my 4th year at Barnsley.  Over the years, I have taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade.  I received my B.S. in Environmental Politics from the University of MD, College Park, and my M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Boston University.  I keep busy spending time with my husband and 4-year-old son, my friends, and family.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, bike riding or other outdoor activities, and baking.
