We Shine at Ashburton!
Dear Ashburton Parents/Guardians:
Ashburton Summer School Programs
Thank you for your interest in our summer school programs! More information about your child's specific courses will be shared with you closer to the program start. We look forward to starting our program soon!
Students may now register for Ashburton Elementary School Summer Programs. All core classes will run for three (3) weeks from July 13, 2020 through July 31, 2020. Students can register for what they need: Reading/ELA Boost, Math Boost, and Enrichment classes.
Attached is a schedule of available grade level courses and dates with times for each of the enrichment classes. Please review the classes carefully before registering as some classes may overlap. You will only need to register for one ELA and/or Math Boost at the grade level as there may be more than one offering.
All sessions will be a LIVE VIRTUAL class for 50 minutes. Please view the attached Ashburton Summer School brochure and click the registration button at the bottom of the brochure to enroll. You may also access the information by clicking on this link here.
To register for summer programs at Ashburton Elementary School, please complete the registration form. Program registration will be available from June 19th to June 30th. You will be notified via email of the program details for your child. If you have questions about the program offerings, please contact Ms. Ruben @ Melissa_Ruben@mcpsmd.org

Updates Regarding the MCPS Gifted and Talented Identification Process
In the absence of a letter being sent to parents regarding changes to the MCPS gifted and talented identification process for 2020-21, the AEI homepage has been updated to include GT Identification Updates for parents and the community. Please use the link below to visit the homepage and read the update.
Continuity of Learning Plan
We are so excited about the Continuity of Learning plan in MCPS. Students will once again be engaging in mathematics and literacy lessons with their teachers as well as specials. The current Continuity of Learning Plan is attached at the bottom of this letter. It outlines the expectations for daily and weekly instruction. Your child’s teacher will provide a schedule that is more specific to the grade-level. This schedule will evolve, and we will send out updates as we make them. Our teachers have been hard at work this week preparing lessons, reconnecting with students and gearing up for this new approach to teaching and learning!
