Upcoming November SSL Opportunities!
- Emancipation Day in Maryland at Sandy Spring Slave Museum (November 5, 2022, 10AM-4PM) - MCPS and the Sandy Spring Slave Museum are hosting an Emancipation Day Celebration on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. MCPS students in grades 6-12 may earn SSL hours for attending and participating in advocacy action.

- Changemaker Workshops (November 15 and 16, 2022, 6:30PM-8PM) - Join local and student activists in a virtual changemaker workshop as they teach students and parents how to effectively challenge social justice issues and inequities in their communities.
- Students may earn 2 SSL hours for attending and actively participating in the workshop.
- November 15, 6:30PM-8PM - Secondary (English)
- November 16, 6:30PM-8PM - Secondary (Spanish)

- Montgomery County Council Youth Town Hall (November 16, 2022, 7PM-9PM) - The Montgomery County Council will host their annual Youth Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Students will be able to participate by sharing questions live either in-person or via Zoom.
- Students may earn 2 SSL hours for attending the program and participating in advocacy action.

- The program will also live stream on the Council’s Facebook and YouTube pages @MoCoCouncilMD
- The Choose Respect Video Contest is now open! Students may earn 10 SSL hours for quality video submissions. Interested students may view the contest rules and additional information at this website.
