SSL Updates and Opportunities

All MCPS students must earn 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. SSL forms (https://bit.ly/SSLReflection) should be submitted to the school’s SSL coordinator no later than the required deadline of June 2, 2023.

Upcoming May SSL Opportunities!
- VZYA 2023 - Middle School Online Art Contest - Deadline: May 5, 2023 - As part of The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT Vision Zero Youth Ambassador (VZYA) program, we are excited to announce our first-ever online art contest for middle school students! The contest will allow students to showcase their artistic skills while also educating others on the importance of traffic safety. All middle school students who submit quality submissions will receive 2 SSL Hours. Additional details may be found at the following link.
- Understanding the Impact of Hate Speech in Popular Culture and Social Media - May 24, 2023 (6PM - 7:30PM) - This session will focus on understanding how hate is spread in popular culture such as music, gaming, and movies and in social media. It will include a discussion on how social media can be used to promote hate. MCPS middle and high school students will earn 2 SSL hours for attending the event and completing a follow-up advocacy component via a Google Form.
