SSL Information and Updates

All MCPS students must earn 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. SSL forms (https://bit.ly/SSLReflection) should be submitted to the school’s SSL coordinator by the recommended due date of Friday, January 6, 2023, but no later than the required deadline of June 2, 2023

Upcoming January SSL Opportunities!

  • MLK Week of Service (January 16-21, 2023) - Montgomery County Public Schools is working collaboratively with the Montgomery County Volunteer Center (MCVC) to promote service opportunities and acts of kindness for others during the MLK Week of Service. 
    • The MCVC website, www.montgomeryserves.org, lists multiple opportunities for individuals to serve on the MLK holiday away from school. 
    • January 16, 2023, is known as “MLK Day of Service: A Day On, Not A Day Off.” Volunteers will have several service options provided to them, including projects to complete at home and in-person. 
    • Special events will be held in multiple locations, and individuals who wish to serve at one of these locations must sign up in advance on the MCVC website - https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/volunteercenter/volunteers/MLK.html.  

Students may find additional SSL organizations and opportunities on the Volunteer Center website; these organizations and opportunities are identified with the blue MCPS SSL graduation cap icon.
