MCPS Sustainability UPDATES

Draft MCPS Sustainability Policy: The Montgomery County Board of Education is seeking comments on proposed amendments to Board Policy ECA, Energy Conservation, to meet requirements in Maryland law and to align with the Montgomery County Climate Action Plan. Public comments are due by Friday, Apr. 7.  A new title is proposed to reflect a focus on sustainability: Policy ECA, Sustainability. Expanding Solar in MCPS:  On January 13, 2022, the board approved a resolution to expand solar production capacity in MCPS.

Montgomery County Government Climate Internship Summer 2022:  Apply to participate in the County’s climate team. This is a competitive internship for qualified students and recent graduates with diverse backgrounds who have strong experience, education, or interest, in climate, sustainability, racial equity, and clean and renewable energy policy.  This is a paid internship and will be conducted fully remotely (teleworking).  For details, click here.
