Athletic Updates

MCPS athletics, in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Leadership Council (SALC), is conducting the first annual MCPS Student-Athlete Leadership Conference on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Activity Center at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm in Gaithersburg. The student-athlete leadership conference will engage a diverse representation of student-athletes interested in developing leadership skills needed to impact student-athlete development and provide advocacy tools for supporting and promoting the R.A.I.S.E. core values of MCPS athletics. Each MCPS high school will select and send four student-athlete delegates to this conference. Student-athletes interested in serving as a delegate should contact their local school athletics specialist. 

Class of 2022 Student-Athlete Scholarship Opportunity –The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Student-Athlete Scholar/Essay application can be found here. Please consult your local school athletics specialists for more details. Seniors get those applications submitted! 

The National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) National Student Leadership Summit is set for July 18-20 in Indianapolis, Indiana. MCPS Athletics will send two student-athlete delegates. For more information and to apply, please click the link here.. 

Bocce County Championships are set for Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Paint Branch High School.

Pompons County Championships are set for Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Montgomery Blair High School.  

Wrestling County Championships are set for Friday, February 18 at 4:30 pm and Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10 am at Gaithersburg High School. 

Basketball County Championships are set for Friday, February 23 at Richard Montgomery High School. Boys’ will play at 5:30 pm and girls play at 7:15 pm.

Spring Registration for High School athletics is now open. Please have parents use ParentVue for spring registration. 

Spring Registration for Middle School athletics is opening February 8, 2022. Please have parents use ParentVue for spring registration.
