SMOB Election Season Is Around The Corner!

SMOB 101

The Special Elections Committee held a SMOB 101 event on November 17, 2022 that included information on the roles of the Board of Education and the Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB). Attendees heard from past SMOBs Hana O’ Looney and Nate Tinbite, former runner-up Zoe Tishaev, and current board member Lynne Harris about the SMOB’s integral role in our education system and ways you can get involved.

SMOB Protocols - Available on December 9, 2022!

The SMOB Protocols provides information on the rules, expectations, forms for filing for candidacy, and more. This key document will be published to the SMOB Election webpage.

SMOB Filing Period - January 3-26, 2023.

If you are a current Grade 10 or Grade 11 students, a registered MCPS students, and a resident of Montgomery County, you are eligible to run for the SMOB. If you are interested in running for the SMOB position, you will have to submit the nomination form found in the SMOB Protocols during the filing period beginning January 3, 2023 and closing January 26, 2023.
