An Inclusive Storytelling Experience

Instructors Needed

BE A PART OF SPARKING CIVIC CHANGES FOR TOMORROW BY EMPOWERING STUDENTS TODAY.

Educators are needed to guide MCPS secondary students as they create a short video highlighting a public policy that is important to them as part of Councilmember Craig Rice’s “Councilmember for a Day Challenge.” The challenge invites teams of three students in grades 8-12 who are interested in politics to submit video entries for the chance to be Councilmember for a Day.

  • 2-4 hours/week commitment from February to April
  • Instructors will lead up to 20 MCPS students in grades 8-12
  • Access to equipment – iPads will be provided to participating teachers for the duration of this project.
Stipend information – This is a stipend opportunity for teachers. Please email Jackie Lightsey (Jaclynn_m_lightsey@mcpsmd.org) with questions.
