Swearing In of Student Board Member

Walter Johnson High School rising senior Ben Moskowitz was sworn in as the 30th student member of the Board of Education at 7:30 p.m. on July 2, 2007. Moskowitz was chosen to serve on the Board by 56.75 percent of the secondary students who cast ballots in the April 25, 2007, election, conducted by the Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils. The overall voter turnout was 83.56 percent (63,732 students).

Moskowitz has been involved in student government for many years, most recently as the treasurer of the Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils. He serves as a member of the Montgomery County Commission on Children and Youth, among other activities. .
